Jam & Kaya Café, PJ Palms Sports Centre

Breakfast, is deemed as the most important meal of the day. It gives us energy to brave through the whole day, gives us anticipation to start a day, and it is also an important factor to determine one's mood for the rest of the day, at least to me =p

So last Sunday, my BFF & I decided to check out a breakfast spot located inside PJ Palms Sports Centre. For those of you wondering where PJ Palms Sports Centre is, it is located in PJ New Town, near A&W & Taman Jaya LRT Station, Just opposite Amcorp Mall.

First-timers like us got lost on the way there- we missed a few turnings, did a few illegal U-Turns and so on. And when we finally arrived at PJ Palm Sports Centre, a guy came up to us and demanded RM5 for parking fees. Oh wells.

Jam & Kaya Cafe is actually a white little cottage with a spacious front yard that overlooks PJ Palms Sports Centre's swimming pool where you can see expats and locals having scuba diving classes.

The setting of Jam & Kaya was simple and non-pretentious. The interior was just alluring and quaint- with the combination of red brick walls, white walls and simple wooden furnitures, and a pretty little flower on each tables. Jam & Kaya is just one of those cafe that you'll wish to spend the whole day there, with your loved ones or with a lovely book.
I really love how the white walls and tables give this place a spacious feel, with light glimmering through the windows, bouncing off the white surface of walls & furnitures.
The menu- food are priced towards the steep side, but price stated are all net price. Both my BFF and I were on a tight budget so we didn't order any drinks. FOC drinking water is provided btw :)
Our order. We couldn't help it but to have a 10 minutes photography session for our food (usually we'd only take 1-3 minutes?)
Egg's Benedicts RM16.70
Poached Eggs, Hollandaise Sauce, Ham & Leafy Green , all in a warm & crusty croissant.
My friend's order but she let me tried some :) The egg yolk flowed out graciously as she poked the eggs with her knife. The hollandaise sauce is more towards the sweet side, and I love the fact that they used croissant instead of a normal bread for the base. The croissant was crispy & flaky, like how a good croissant should be.

Farmer's Pancake RM18.90
Pancake stack stuffed with salad leaves, sauteed button mushroom, topped with ham, hash brown, sunny side up & drizzled with honey.
Search "Jam8kaya" at Instagram and you'll notice that 60% of the pictures features the Farmer's Pancake.
Sweet & Savoury lovers should really try this- the combination of fluffy pancakes, with juicy button mushrooms, savoury ham & egg and crunchy hashbrown was just perfect. The sweet sensation from the honey gives the whole dish an extra kick that was truly memorable.
Will I be back? Definitely. I still haven't try out their coffee! The service was really pleasant, the environment was lovely, and food was certainly enjoyable.
