Broadbean Cafe, Aman Suria

It's been a while since Guan Ren & I last visited Aman Suria. We were quite tired of visiting crowded brunch places during the weekend so we decided to check out this quaint little cafe!
BroadBean Cafe is located at the same row as Betty's Midwest Kitchen & My Elephant.
The interior of BroadBean Cafe scream "COSY". Customers can choose to sip their coffee at the nice & comfy sofa, or choose to dine in at proper tables and chairs. Plug points are available in certain corner of this cafe too!
Soft, relaxing music playing at the cafe really puts me in the mood for coffee :) The owners of the cafe, which I think was a pair of mother and son, were really friendly & they welcomed us with enthusiasm into the cafe. The way the guy dressed up was really Japanese-inspired- he somehow reminded me of one of the character from a Japanese Drama I love- Liar Game.

In case you're curious, please google "Akiyama Shinichi" or "Liar Game"

Okay, back to topic.
The quirky & clean cut design of BroadBean Cafe's menu that plays with geometrical shapes and round edges.
BroadBean Cafe serves local delights such as Kampong Fried Rice, and also tantalizing Italian dishes like Spaghetti and Lasagne. We were quite shock to see a number of foreigners, probably Europeans, at BroadBean Cafe, as Aman Suria isn't much of an expat area. Perhaps their Italian dishes was really good! We didn't try em out though. I wanted to give the chicken pie a try but Guan Ren insisted to have the breakfast set (his justification: chicken pie is available every day, whereas the breakfast set is only served on weekend at BroadBean Cafe)
Cafe Latte RM8
The Cafe Latte is served in a transparent coffee cup, which I find pretty cute.
Cappuccino RM8
I squirmed in delight. Hello Kitty! My favourite cartoon character since young, and that had not changed. The Akiyama-san-look-a-like barista definitely know how to please his customers :) The coffee was done right and we enjoyed it very much.
Special BroadBean Breakfast RM25 (Comes with Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice)
Scrambled eggs, Baked Beans, Sauteed Mushroom, Chicken Sausages, Cheesy Wedges ,Beef Bacon and 2 slices of panini. This breakfast set is available all day, only during the weekends though.
For RM25, I find this breakfast set tad pricey. It was suffice to feed two small eaters though.
I liked the sauteed mushroom, which was soft and flavourful. The baked beans had a rather concentrated tomato paste which I truly enjoyed. The panini slices was toasted to perfection, nice and crunchy. The chicken sausage & beef bacon tasted rather average. The scrambled eggs was a little let down as it was slightly overcooked and tad salty, but I loved the fact that they added cheese into it. The cheesy wedges...well it wasn't cheesy? It tasted like those normal frozen wedges you can buy from a supermarket, or maybe they've forgotten the cheese sauce?

While the food served at Broadbean Cafe wasn't particularly memorable, it was the warm hospitality and lovely coffee that made us feel welcomed and pleasant. We would be back one day, perhaps just for their coffee, and also to try out their desserts/chicken pie!
