Pickle & Fig, TTDI

Last weekend before my sem break ends, Guan Ren asked me where I would like to go to grab desserts. He said I can choose anywhere, near or far, because after our sem break ends it'd be hard for us to go cafe hopping. So I happily (+ thick skin) requested Guan Ren to bring me to The Grumpy Cyclist at TTDI as I wanted to try out their pancakes.

Unfortunately for us, The Grumpy Cyclist was closed due to the water rationing. X(
Being unfamiliar of that area, we used foursquare to check if there's any cafe nearby that is on my to-do list and joy, Pickle & Fig was just a few blocks away!
And double joy, it was open!
Pickle & Fig, a rather quirky name for a cafe, don't you think so?
Pickle & Fig has a spacious compound that emits calming & soothing vibe. The interior was rather simple & minimalist, with cemented walls and floors, mixed and matched with assorted furniture for the comfort of customers.
The interior was dimly lit, giving the place a really relaxing ambiance. A perfect place to just sit back & relax with a partner/friends. And triple joy, wifi connectivity was stable and fast. Another brownie point for this place!
The el fresco area utilized recycled wood as a table- which was pretty smart & innovative. The walls outside are free for all to doodle, creating a friendly ambiance for all.
The menu is scribbled all over the blackboard. Sandwiches & Paninis dominate the food menu, the beverages menu on the other hand was as extensive as the sandwiches selection. Smoothies, coffee, fruit juice, teas...you name it! Full menu is available HERE on their Facebook page.

Guan Ren & I wanted something sweet to end the night so we ordered a cake and a hot chocolate.
Hot Chocolate RM10
Our drinks were served in paper cups due to the water rationing. Oh well. The hot chocolate had more milk than chocolate. Would've been better if the chocolate taste was richer :)
Chocolate Banana Cake RM14
Guan Ren & I were a little taken aback by the price because it wasn't listed on the board. We had really high expectation for a piece of cake that cost so much.

The cake definitely did not disappoint! Moist, and rich in chocolate. The cake is a must for chocolate and banana lovers! I'd recommend one to share though as it might get a little cloying at the end :)
Overall, Pickle & Fig would be a great place for hangouts or a quick meal, although I'd really recommend one to visit this place when there's no water rationing being carried out.

Would really like to try out their sandwiches one day! It seems really yummy and tempting. Most of the customers ordered their food and the whiff of hot sandwiches swamped the place & made me feel hungry!
