my Elephant Thai Restaurant, Taipan Business Centre

my Elephant Thai Restaurant, a thai food restaurant that requires no introduction. I've never tried it out before however, until I found out that my Elephant has opened a branch @ Taipan Business Centre!
So I dragged my parents to try it out on a Saturday night! It was raining really heavily outside so no picture of the facade. Instead here's a picture of their napkin!
Winner of the TimeOut KL Best Thai Restaurant category, my Elephant Thai Restaurant has been standing strong in the Klang Valley since 2007. my Elephant Thai food started off at a little shoplot at Section 17 and has since flourished and grow into 4 branches (Section 17, Sri Hartamas, Aman Suria & USJ 9!)
The view of the restaurant from my seat
The interior of my elephant- simple & clean. Grey & sky blue walls, white table clothe & white majong paper were placed over the tables giving the restaurant a clean feel. I let out a sigh of relief, as the place was really well-lit, a really good news for me and my camera!

It was a busy night for my elephant. Even though my Elephant USJ 9 branch is a two-story restaurant that could fit up to 100 diners, it was full house on that night so we were seated at a table that was meant for 2 person- we didn't mind because we were starving and we just want our food to be serve to us fast.
A snippet of their clean menu with a modern touch.
You can browse through their full menu in their website (link)!
Green Aroma RM8
Freshly made pandan and lemongrass with herbs
Refreshing, aromatic pandan taste with a tinge of sweetness. Would really recommend this drink to put off the spicy fire of Thai food! A unique drink that is worth trying.
Panda Cooler RM3.50
Description: "my Elephant super cool thirst quencher", a description that was pretty vague so I'm not too sure what was the content of the drink but there was definitely pandan. One sip and the aromatic sweet taste of pandan lingers at my taste buds, creating a memorable taste. Would prefer this drink over the Green Aroma but don't get me wrong! Both drink are good in its own way ;)
After about 15 minutes wait our food was finally served! The table was too small to fit all of our dishes though.
Tom Som with Seafood RM20 (2 pax)
Clear Galangal, lemongrass & lime soup with aromatic Thai herbs.
The generous amount of seafood was enough to serve the three of us. The soup was flavourful & sourish, a perfect dish to kick start your appetite. However, I'd have prefer if the strong herbs taste could be mellowed down a little.
Not sure whether this dish was really spicy or it was just me because I was suffering from ulcers at that time. I couldn't manage to finish the soup because the spiciness was too overpowering to me.
Markeer Yao RM15
Stir-fried eggplants served with a generous amount of minced chicken
This dish would certainly be my favourite for the night- the egg plant was tender and not oily at all! The amount of minced chicken was a delight. I really love it when restaurants are generous with meat so two thumbs up for this dish! Goes really well with their fluffy rice.
Khai Jiao Tofu RM15
Thai omelette with tofu
Not really my favourite dish for the night as I felt that there was more tempura batter than eggs and tofu.
Hom Malee and Brown Rice RM3 per pax, refillable
A mixture of Jasmine Rice & brown rice. Thumbs up for a healthier option! The rice was fluffy and aromatic, I could just have it on its own. I'm not a rice person but the rice served at my Elephant definitely won my heart!
Durian Cheese Cake RM9.50
The cheese cake served at my Elephant is supplied by Purple Monkey ! The Durian Cheese Cake was superb! It was DA BOMB! Creamy with a strong aromatic "kick" of durian taste, and a layer of biscuit crumbs base. The Durian Cheese Cake's texture was leaning towards ice-cream like texture , so I loved it to bits!
Red Ruby RM6.50
Water chestnut and jackfruit with coconut milk.
Didn't really enjoy this desserts as I felt that it has too much coconut milk, but not enough jackfruits and water chestnut.

Overall, my dining experience at my Elephant Thai Restaurant has some hits and misses, perhaps because this branch is still relatively new. Would love to try out more dishes soon! And perhaps their really affordable set lunches!
