Frisky Goat, Taman Tun Dr Ismail

"Okay turn right after the traffic light..WAIT WAIT WAIT DON'T GO TO THE RIGHT LANE! Stay in middle lane..middle lane"

A close shave. It was raining cats and dogs. It was so hard to see what is ahead of us in the horrendous LDP rush hour jam. On a Friday evenning too. Guan Ren as usual was the driver and I was the navigator. Clenching my phone, I painstakingly tried my best to navigate Guan Ren through the unfamiliar roads of LDP which was in a mess, thanks to the MRT construction going on.

After a 45 minutes car journey, we (finally!) reached our destination- Frisky Goat
It was still raining so heavily and we only had one umbrella in hand. Oh yes, the things we go through in search of good food. I had just finished my trials at then, and Guan Ren immediately offered to take me out for a food hunting trip. We planned this trip a few weeks in advance, even before our trials started because Frisky Goat is renowned for our favourite type of desserts- WAFFLES
We finally waddled our way to the entrance of Frisky Goat. I wasn't drenched but Guan Ren was partially drenched. The guilt ouch. Pushed the heavy wooden door that was painted blue and were greeted by their staffs enthusiastically.
We decided to tuck ourself in to the corner of the cafe. The seating at Frisky Goat was arranged in such a way you'll feel like you're a sardin in a can. The tables were arranged really close to each other, leaving not much room for privacy. But then again it was understandable as this place tends to get really crowded on weekends.

The interior of Frisky Goat was pretty rustic, with the red bricks walls, and vintage cushion lying around their sofa chairs, pared up with the warm lightings. It was cosy alright, just a little cramped :P
The array of wonderful pastries displayed at the counter. The golden crust of the pastries just looks oh-so-tempting !
And a wonderful array for desserts! A feast to the eyes!
Breakfast menu!

As soon we were seated, the waiter handed us a simple cardboard menu. Descriptions are written clearly so one could make their decision easily. Frisky Goat's breakfast menu differs from the usual breakfast menu- take a look, their unique mix & match of ingredients! Waffles with poached eggs and Hollandaise Sauce? What an ingenious combination! (have yet to try but it seems pretty good)
Dinner Menu
We were clear on what we wanted (Waffles, duh!) so we immediately called for the waiter to make our order. UNFORTUNATELY for us, the kitchen was closed from 3pm-6pm. Only desserts, drinks & pastries are served between that time. We were there at 4pm..(Breakfast menu is served till 3pm, whereas dinner menu is only served after 6pm). Oh yes, you mean we went through all those for nothing?

Feeling utterly disappointed, I was at a total loss as waffles was our main agenda, for weeks! But Guan Ren suggested that we just try out their pastries & desserts since we were already there, and it was still raining heavily outside and I was starving as I skipped lunch for this. (LOL)
Mini Chocolate Croissant RM3
Croissant topped with a rich, chocolate sauce
The croissant was served at room temperature, so it tasted a little dry. However, the chocolate layer made up for it. The chocolate layer was rich and mhhhhhmm delicious! The aromatic cocoa taste lingers at my taste buds as I took a bite off the croissant.
Bread & Butter Pudding RM10
Served with a mini jug of evaporated milk...

Now, after trying this bread pudding, it wasn't that bad, not being able to try their waffles. The bread pudding was scrumptious! Croissant was used instead of the usual stale baguette hence the extra flavours! So soft, flavourful and aromatic, with a sweetness that was just nice. I enjoyed this bread pudding a lot!

Well, the bread pudding did make up for my disappointment. Although I'd still like to have my waffles soon :( Frisky Goat would be a great place to those who are adventurous or who are in search of a unique breakfast food. It tends to get a little too noisy though as Frisky Goat's popularity is soaring!
