Rekindle, SS2

After a really satisfying dinner at Epicuro, Guan Ren and I wanted to proceed with our dessert plans (despite our stomach being on the verge of exploding.) I revealed to him that our dessert place will be Frisky Goat @ TTDI as I heard that their waffles are a must-try. But in the end, we decided waffles would do more harm than pleasure to our body so we disregarded that idea, and decided to go for coffee instead. It was quite a daunting task, picking out a place for coffee as most of the places close at 10.30pm. This cafe just crossed my mind and here we are!
Rekindle, SS2! Rekindle is located at the same row as Babyland & Baker's Cottage. Its unique signboard with a fire element makes it easy for all to spot. I've passed by this cafe numerous times when I came to SS2 for dinner but I never had the chance to try it out because it was always packed to the brim, or I was there with my parents whom are not really keen on having caffeine at night.

Step into Rekindle and it was love at first sight. The rustic interior was simply charming. Red bricks walls with poloroid photos hanging over the walls, mismatched furnitures such as garden bench x sewing machine tables, tall wooden chairs & tables paired up with vintage & antiques decorations like the old bike leaning on the counter
Various antique items were placed on the counter for decoration purposes, adding charm to the cafe.
There's even a beanie section for customer to sit back and relax. Guan Ren and I decided to snap the beanie seat as only the beanie seats & the tall seats were available- the whole place was packed with caffeine & cakes lovers! The beanie was super comfortable to lie on, but the downside is if you're a tall person like Guan Ren you'll be suffering from discomfort/

My apology for the shaky pic. The lighting was quite dim to produce a warm, charming atmosphere.

All sort of coffee gizmos displayed on the counter. There were so much more interesting decorations in the cafe but I couldn't snap a pic of em because it was too crowded :/
And as always, I'd head to the cake section to give it a loooooooong stare.
The selection of cakes at Rekindle was impressive! The range of cakes available was really extensive, and all of them looks really good. We just had a cake in Epicuro so we decided to skip the cakes =(

Their menu- written clearly with coloured chalks to add a sense of liveliness. Even the range of beverages available was extensive I was impressed.

As we proceed to the counter to make our order, we were greeted by a young lady enthusiastically. Another brownie point for friendliness! I was about to order my usual cappuccino but Guan Ren spotted something on the menu that pique his inquisitiveness- Upside Down. He asked the cashier what is Upside Down about, and oh should've seen Guan Ren's face when we heard the description. Without thinking twice, we ordered an Upside Down to share.

Upside Down RM15
Nutella-coated cup, downed with milk, and further topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream...
This was DA BOMB. Words can't describe my love towards this drink. Oh boy. The rich, thick, sinful nutella, mixed with the milk & smooth have to try this to truly understand how great this drink was. A must-try! Although it might get a little too cloying if one were to finish this own his own.

I foresee myself returning, to give their cuppa or latte a try & most definitely, CAKES! ;)
