Kaffa Espresso Bar, Damansara Uptown

Happ CNY! Hope you all had a great time with your friends & family and may you & your loved one have an auspicious year ahead! :)

Sorry if I've been neglecting this blog for the past few days heh. Too busy having fun & I'm sure most of you are too :b

Last Wednesday, Guan Ren & I went to Tropicana City Mall for #NNPremierScrening of Robocop! Did a little last-minute CNY shopping and we realize that we explored the whole mall within 10 minutes lol! We had more than 2 hours to kill so Guan Ren suggested to have dinner at Uptown! Happiness just jolted all over my body cells hahah #exaggeratingbutyeah.

So we wandered around Uptown, looking for a new cafe to try out. We parked our car near Ecole P, and ended up walking all over Uptown because Fuel Cafe and Departure Lounge (our initial picks) were closed lol!
Then we saw a wooden sign board with the words "Kaffa Espresso Bar" in neon light which was really welcoming and attractive so we decided to go for it =b
Kaffa Espresso Bar has two dining area- the dimly lit air-conditioned indoor dining area, and the laid back elfresco dining area for smokers :)
The interior of Kaffa was totally American Vintage inspired. The vintage artworks, red brick wall & wooden table and metal chairs adds a rustic & retro feel to this little cosy cafe. The jazz music playing in the background really made me feel as if I'd traveled back to the 70s.
The soft lighting & relaxing vibe in Kaffa certainly set my mood for a good feast :)
The delicious selection of cakes available! The cheesecake served here looks a lot like the one they serve in Artisan. It was approaching CNY and Guan Ren just had a lot of desserts during his trip to Taiwan so we decided to skip desserts.
The menu was totally old school. All food items were scribbled on the chalk board for easy reference.
Was elated when they told us that the breakfast menu is available whole day! So being a fan of breakfast food, I settled for the Big Breakfast naturally while Guan Ren opted for the Egg's Benedict

One of their vintage painting on the wall that I could 101% relate to :)
Cafe Latte RM10

Served in a dainty metal mug, the Cafe latte has a milky & smooth body. Coffee was rather mild (light roast, I think?) so it was a great drink at night. Guan Ren liked it as the coffee wasn't too strong.
Our order didn't take long to arrive- probably because we were the only customers at that time.
Breakfast Platter RM18.90
Scrambled Eggs, Jumbo Chicken Sausage, Hash Brown, Sauteed Mushroom, Oven Roasted Tomato, a Bun and a choice of Beef Bacon OR Turkey Ham

The Breakfast Platter reminds me of Antipodeon Big Breakfast minusing the fact that Antipodeon serves pork & the portion at Antipodeon is bigger.

Loved the scrambled eggs, which had a creamy texture and aromatic butter taste. The sauteed mushroom was nicely done, soft & bursting with garlic-y taste. The chicken sausage was just okay.

The hashed brown was a let down though. It was too oily & it tasted mediocre, I couldn't get myself to finish it.

Egg's Benedict RM14.90
Poached Eggs & a choice of Turkey Ham OR Smoked Salmon on a slice of toast, topped with Holladaise Sauce.
The very vital Poached Egg Test..
The bread was toasted till crisp. The crunchy bread, creamy Hollandaise sauce & egg yolk just come together oh-so-perfectly. Paired up with the savoury smoked salmon, the combination couldn't be any better.

Portion might small but it was definitely really filling & satisfying to the tummy. The Hollandaise sauce here is leaned towards the sourish side so it was reallly appetizing to me :)

Overall Rating: 7.5/10
The food served was satisfying to our tummy. Not the best breaky food in town, but the lovely environment definitely deserve an extra brownie points!
