Brussels Beer Cafe, Setia Walk

*Non-Halal*

Greetings everyone! First off, I'd like to apologize for leaving my blog idle for a few days as I had been really busy with my studies :"( Word of advice: Never take 1.5 years program for A-Levels.

Anyways, back to the leisure CNY holidays week, I went to Setia Walk @ Puchong with my family to catch a movie & dinner! We were late and so we decided to have a quick dinner...at Brussels Beer Cafe.
You know when people opt for a quick dinner, they don't usually dine in at a Beer Cafe but...hey I always wanted to try out a pub cum cafe so forget it :P

Brussels Beer Cafe is a Belgain restaurant cum pub, serving up towels of beers and porky-licious delights to their patrons. They have several branches scattered over Klang Valley, like Sunway Pyramid, Jaya One, Ampang, Mt Kiara & so on!

The interior was really German-inspired, with the oak shelving units & furniture dominating the place. The chattering of the patrons, and the european music playing in the background, paired up with the sound of the grinding machine, created a really
Got really attracted to the ceiling, for some reasons.
Hoe Rose RM14 (Half Pint)
The Happy Hour promotion was going on so dad & bro ordered these! Not an expert in alcohols, but both of these drink tasted quite good :)
Pumpkin Soup RM10.80
Homemade creamy pumpkin soup topped with roasted almond flakes, served with a slice of buttered toast.
Rich in pumpkin flavours & creamy in texture, this soup was the bomb! I enjoyed it till the very last drop.
Wild Mushroom Salad RM15.80
Assorted lettuce tossed with sautéed wild mushroom, homemade vinaigrette dressing, topped with crispy fried onions.
The juicy mushrooms, paired up with the crunchy fried onions, and fresh crisps of the greens, created a harmonic balance between the condiments.
Carbonara Pasta RM23.80
Fettucini pasta cooked will el dente, tossed with carbonara sauce, bacon chunks & parmesan cheese.
The carbonara pasta was a delight- each strand of noodles was cooked till perfection & coated evenly with the creamy carbonara sauce and the smokey bacon.
My only qualm was the portion, which was tad small for our big appetite.
Pork Belly RM30.80
Braised pork belly served with Belgian stoemp, sautéed vegetables, rotkraut and Franziskaner sauce
The pork belly was really tender, and I could slice it easily effortlessly :)
Tender, juicy & succulent, I couldn't have enough of it. It was perfect on its own, but even outstanding when paired with the flavourful Franziskaner sauce. I'd prefer it if the proportion of fats to lean meat is lower though. The mashed potatoes that was served alongside with the pork belly too was on par.
Sausage Platter RM28.80
Hungarian Sausage, Emmenthaler Sausage, Garlic Sausage
The sausage was tender & each bite was bursting with flavours. Don't underestimate the size of these sausages as it was really filling & satisfying to the tummy! Definitely recommended.

Overall Rating: 7/10
Was satisfied with my dinner here- service was prompt, food was satisfying & enjoyable. Would be happier if the portion would be slightly bigger though ;)
