Artisan Roast HQ, Section 13

Jeanette is my foodie buddy & close friend in college. We have a lot in common. We love food. We enjoy cafe hunting. We immerse in our #asianatwork moments.

And on the day where we decided to visit Burgerlab (actually, it was Nasi Lemak Bumbung but it was closed), we were discussing about places to visit for desserts over whatsapp. And she had the best idea ever- TO VISIT ARTISAN ROAST HQ which was only a 10 minute drive from Seapark!!!

I've never ever been to Artisan Roast before, and only tried out their cheesecake once so I was pretty excited!

Artisan Roast HQ, located in the secluded area of Section 13, amidst the industrial factories enclave. If you're following the GPS and it is directing you into an industrial area where you think no cafe would exist there, you're probably on the right track to Artisan Roast =)
As we pushed the heavy glass door open, an inviting, aromatic scent of coffee greeted us. The place was abuzz with the chitter chatters of the crowd & the sound of coffee machine grinding. Simply lively & inviting.

Unlike its other branch, Artisan Roast HQ @ Section 13 is huge! The HQ is a two storey spacious building which was initially a warehouse, to accommodate its ever increasing fans.

The interior of Artisan Roast HQ was charming and rustic, with its tall ceiling, red brick wall, cemented floors & wooden furniture laid out in a systematic manner. Wished if we could visited this place during day time though, because the french windows would definitely provide sufficient lighting for beautiful pictures teehee.
Artisan Roast, is what I'd call a "true cafe" as they only serve drinks (with caffeinated beverages dominating the menu), and desserts such as cakes, ice-cream & affogato.

My classmates & I went ga-ga over the cakes display. They simply looked so tempting! We were debating whether to order it or not as most of us were pretty stuffed from burgerlab. In the end we decided to just go for one cheesecake BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE ARTISAN ROAST WITHOUT TRYING THEIR CHEESECAKE!

Lovely stacks of The Last Polka ice cream! i have never tried em before & my stomach was too full at that time. #nextvisit!

Artisan Roast's fancy coffee machines & coffee gadgets. There were a few shelving units show casting coffee mugs, coffee beans & coffee tools all for sale. The friendly baristers will be there to help you if you have any questions to ask =)
Our orders for the night =) We wanted to order Artisan Roast famous Affogato as well but it was sold out =(
The lighting was really bad at our seat, and my kind classmates offered to help me improve the lighting manually, using our phone's flash =D
Artisan Cheese Cake RM11
Best cheese cake. Ever. Unanimously agreed by everyone on the table (except for our vegetarian chinese-food inclined friend who prefers not so creamy food). Smooth, velvety, creamy, yet not cloying at all. The cheesecake literally tasted like a piece of heaven. Read about my previous review of Artisan Cheesecake HERE
Dolce Mocha RM12
Shared this with lovely Jeanette. Glad we shared as the cup size was much bigger than your usual coffee cup! The dolce mocha was lovely- smooth foam, with a hint of white chocolate sweetness that was just right. Definitely a delight if you prefer your coffee to be sweet =)
Mocha RM12
I loved it. I really loved it. Dark Cocoa powder was used instead of the usual chocolate syrup, hence the chocolate felt more concentrated. Rich, chocolate-y taste, which just a subtle sweetness- my definition of a perfect cup of Mocha.
If you'd prefer a sweet cup of Mocha though, this wouldn't be your cup of tea =b

Overall Rating: 8/10
If you're looking for a nice place to chill & have coffee, Artisan Roast HQ is the perfect spot for you. Rustic & charming interior, great coffee & desserts. Ahhh loves.
