Mr & Ms Cafe, Oasis Square, Ara Damansara

[Rantings. Skip the first 2 paragraphs to head straight for review]

It was a really rough morning. Both my parents were overseas having the time of their life & I decided to meet up with one of my bestie which I had not seen in month. Planned to bake together but there was a water disruption service so we had to abandon mission. Decided to detour to 1 Utama for a shopping trip. On the fly-over near Paradigm Mall, my car started jerking like crazy and emitted some burnt smell. Panicking, I switched on the hazard light, and slowly move down the slope, pulling over next to a bus stop. Opened the car boot but couldn't find the reflector so I had no choice but to drive inside the commercial lot for a proper place to stop. Luck was on my side at that time as I pulled over just next to a car workshop. Got the car's spark plug replaced for RM25 and added some oil for RM30. There goes our shopping trip.

Drove my old red proton home safely, and switched to my mum's quite-old-also-la-but-not-as-old Elantra, which was sent for servicing a few days back so it gave me a sense relief. It was approaching noon, our stomach started to grumble and the first place nearby that crossed my mind for a decent lunch is Oasis.

End of rant.

Burger Factory, Bad Boy Cooks, Tapper's Cafe, Crave...I've tried em all except for this brunch restaurant which seems to gain tremendous popularity, Mr & Ms.

Despite being a weekday, Mr & Ms was packed to the brim. Good thing we arrived quite early so we didn't need to wait for a seat!
The black furniture, brick-red wall & knick-knacks displayed around gives the cafe a very welcoming & homey ambient. I somehow felt calm & the stress accumulated in the morning slowly fade away as I let my mind relax in the cafe.
The menu- featuring your typical brunch options. What makes Mr & Ms food item stands out on my opinion, is the ingredients incorporated into their dish. The dish served in Mr & Ms seems much healthier, with the words "yogurt" and "avocado" dominating the menu. My lunch buddy, Wan Jin, was quite skeptical, as she wasn't a fan of health food.
Service was pretty prompt despite the huge crowd. The waiter greeted us, handed us the menu and a bottle of complementary drinking water once we step in to Mr & Ms
Photo props- the elements that made Mr & Ms popularity widespread on social media. Of course, we jumped in the bandwagon and camwhored as well
My lunch partner of the day- Wan Jin (:
After a long wait of 15 minutes, our food finally arrived-
Salmon Scrambled Eggs RM15.90
Scrambled eggs topped with generous amount of smoked salmon chunks & feta cheese on top of a toasted bread.
The scrambled eggs were soft & fluffy. Each bite was bursting with a buttery aroma. The taste was further enhanced by the chunks of smoked salmon & feta cheese which renders a distinctive taste.
Mr & Ms Breakfast Platter RM19.90
A combination of the healthy trio- Fruit Salad, Muesli & Butterscotch Pancakes topped with caramelized bananas
Was having sore throat on that day so I decided to opt for something healthier.
The muesli was served alongside with a bottle of fresh milk & it tasted normal. Nothing much to shout about. However, the Butterscotch Pancake turned the whole dish around . Soft, light & fluffy- I'd say that the pancakes served at Mr & Ms is the tastiest pancakes I've ever tried, so far, surpassing the pancakes at Paddington Garden. The Butterscotch sauce drizzled on top of the pancakes was not too sweet, aromatic & compliments the pancake well. The banana was well-caramelized too.
The fruit salad features a mixture of diced apple, pear, kiwi and honeydew, topped with a dollop of yogurt & a few cashew nuts. Quite simple, something you could make yourself at home.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10
I really enjoyed the food served at Mr & Ms, and so did my picky lunch partner, whom is someone that is REALLY HARD TO IMPRESS =P Although next time, I'd just go for the pancakes and just pancakes.
