Burgertory , SS15

Some month back when Burgertory just opened its door to the public, I visited this place Guan Ren and another close friend, Yue Yang. The burger tasted quite normal at then so I didn't bother about this place until recently I've been reading lots of good review on food blogs. My brother too, have been raving about how good Burgertory's Pork Burger is so my dad decided to bring our family to try it out !
What's Unique about this restaurant? Well, the workers DIY it themselves! Impressive, isn't it ?

Their Menu! Burgertory not only serve pork burger but also beef and veggie burger! We all decided to go for their pork burger since it is their specialty
Our order came after a swift 15 minutes wait
Shrooming Salad RM7
With just RM7, we got a big bowl of salad with mushroom filled to the brim of the bowl
Shrooming Swine - Cheddar Mild Cheese & Button Mushroom ,RM14 (set +RM5)
Didn't get to try this but my brother claimed that it was good.
Burgertory Treasure-Cheddar Mild Cheese & Pork Lard RM13 (set +RM5)
On first bite I could feel the crunchiness of the pork lard. The patty was marinated lightly but the juiciness of the patty compensated for it.
The fries were pretty average, but I loved the extra "bonus" wedges they gave
My order- Hop Lips - Scallop Lips, Tobiko, Bonito & Homemade Sauce- RM18
How cute of them to serve my ala-carte burger in a mini wok.

First Impression: Japanese Burger
When I took my first bite: Mhhhmmm scallop!
Second bite: SPICY!

It was a really spicy burger, even for someone who loves spicy food like me. But overall I really liekd the burger. The combination of these JAPANESE ingredients might seem weird at first but after your first bite you won't regret making that decision. The patty was nice and juicy despite being so thick and it did not let me down at all.

Look at that thick patty!

However, the buns weren't as fluffy as other burger joints (my BurgerLab, Big Chomp) but nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal there.

Verdict: Get their Pork Burger! Burgertory has certainly improved a lot since my first visit. My brother told me their side dish such as Fried Portobello and Fried Parmesan are to die for so I'll be back soon.
Be there early! When I was about to leave (around 8-ish) the lines were long and there weren't enough space to accommodate everyone.

Brotzeit Bier Bar & Restaurant, Sunway Pyramid

Mum bought a groupon deal for 6 pax on my dad's birthday. The initial plan was to invite my brother's friend and also my friend

but unfortunately both of them can't make it due to exams so it's only the four of us.
I came here last years with my cousins. There were 7 of us and we bought a similar deal for 6 pax but we couldn't finish it so mum was kinda worried
The environment.

Our deal (RM238) consisted of:

German pork platterServed with braised German cabbage and potato salad
1.4kg pork knuckle (RM85 value)
650g grilled marinated pork steaks (RM65 value)
650g roasted pork loins (RM65 value)
Gypsy pork belly (RM55 value)
6x spicy chicken sausages (RM54 value)
Paulaner Bier (RM80 value)
1x Original Münchner Urtyp
1x Original Münchner Dunkel
1x Dunkel Hefe-Weissbier
1x Hefe-Weissbier

Beats me on how to pronounce the names ^^"
Dunkel Hefe-Weissbier was out of stock that night, so we replaced it with a
Original Münchner Urtyp
From left- Original Münchner Urtyp,  Hefe-Weissbier , Original Münchner Urtyp, Original Münchner Dunkel

Yes, I am legally 18 this year haha.
Original Münchner Urtyp: This one is the best out of all three. It has a sweet taste, but not too overwhelming
Hefe-Weissbier: Taste like Tiger Beer
Original Münchner Dunkel: This one tasted a little bland on my opinion

After fifteen minutes wait our order arrived!
Our wonderful feast of the night! The meats were served on a large wooden board that is almost as big as our table!
Observe closely and you will realize that the meat are arranged such that it resembles a fish :)
Braised Cabbage topped with crunchy, sweet fried onion.
Grilled Marinated Pork Loin.
The meat was really soft and tender. The sauce tasted like curry sauce haha.
Potato Salad! Unlike most potato salad served in other restaurants, Brotzeit's Potato Salad is more refreshing and light.  This version of potato salad has less mayo and a tinge of sour lemon in it, which means, less fats and healthier! I really enjoyed this creamy potato salad
The Meat Platter: 1.4kg Pork Knuckles, Pork Lion, Gipsy Pork Belly and Chicken Sausage
The pork knuckle was crunchy on the outside, and tender in the inside. It is served with black pepper gravy which was just nice, not too overwhelming to mask the flavour of the pork.
The Pork Lion was probably the best dish in the platter- It was really tender and juicy.
The chicken sausage was on par too. Unlike the usual sausages you get from hypermarkets, this one is marinated with herbs and spice with a of spiciness giving it a "punch"
The Gipsy Pork Belly tasted like bacon- a little too salty but when coupled with the braised cabbage or lettuce it tasted wonderful

Fish Eye (Cherry Tomato) and Fish Mouth

Food was scrumptious ! This would be top of my list for a pork-y feast!
